Engage Great People

Sector Diversity Action Councils are an important building block of Compass Group’s diversity process.  The Councils were created to offer strategic thinking, planning, and assessment and to ensure diversity and inclusion are addressed in ways that allow our organization to achieve and sustain a competitive advantage.  Sector Diversity Action Councils have a charter that outlines their leadership, membership, role and responsibilities.  Also, they are active in reviewing current conditions, identifying solutions, and executing and communicating new ideas.

The North American Diversity Action Council (NADAC) was originally created in 2003. Recently, the NADAC has been reintroduced and is responsible for making recommendations as it relates to diversity and inclusion to the sector diversity action councils and Officers of Compass Group.  The NADAC is made up of chairpersons/representatives from the following action councils/associations: B&I (Eurest, Flik, Restaurant Associates), Canteen, Chartwells, Corporate and Foodbuy, Levy Restaurants and Morrison.

Diversity Week

Created and developed by the North American Diversity Council in 2003, Diversity Week is Compass Group’s opportunity to stop and value the difference and likenesses all of our associates bring to our organization.  We understand that we are not a great company in spite of our differences; we are a great company because of our differences.  This year, Compass Group’s corporate offices held a Compass Got Talent competition during the Annual Diversity Week celebration.  Associates submitted entries in art, performance, mixed media, photography, and literature categories.

President’s Five Jewel Award for Best Practices in Diversity
Compass Group’s Be-A-star program recognizes associates and teams for achieving their Sector's business initiatives with excellence.  One important component of the program is the Five Jewel Award for Best Practices in Diversity.  Since 2003, over 20 awards have been given to winning units and/or teams who clearly demonstrated teamwork, creativity, and community outreach.
